Cardiff Collegium 16+

The Cardiff Collegium is now known as the Metropolitan Learning Conference (MLC)

The Cardiff Collegium or MLC is a positive partnership between Coleg Glan Hafren, Cardiff Schools, Cardiff City Council and DCELLS. Through this partnership pupils can study vocational programmes, such as BTECs and NVQs, from as young as 14 as part of their main studies at school. There is the opportunity to undertake these studies, all of which lead on to other courses or career options, either at their own or another school, or at one of Coleg Glan Hafren’s three sites.

Why was the Cardiff Collegium (or MLC) set up?

The Collegium was set up to offer young people the opportunity to study a wide range of vocational qualifications, still within the school environment, while allowing them to fully benefit from being a college student.
