Learning Support

The Learning Support Team aims to include all in the learning experience. We provide support for students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. If you have any individual learning needs the College Learning Support Team may be able to help. This could include students with physical disabilities, mental health issues, dyslexia, sensory impairments, autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, epilepsy and long term illnesses such as Cancer or Multiple Sclerosis.

We may also be able to help with transport to and from college, advice if you are concerned about following a course of study and special arrangements to extend set course times, if you are unable to complete your course due to your learning needs.

The Learning Support Team works across the college supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and consists of a Manager - Lionel Barnes (Email barnes_l@glan-hafren.ac.uk), Coordinator - Liz Thomas, based at the Trowbridge campus (Email thomas_e@glan-hafren.ac.uk) and Deputy Coordinator - Sally Hughes, based at The Parade campus (Email hughes_s@glan-hafren.ac.uk), as well as 54 Learning Support Workers including a signer.

You can tell us about your learning support needs on your application, at your interview or when you start at college, ask for Learning Support at reception.  Please note that the earlier you inform us of your needs the sooner we will be able to put support in place.
