Creative & Digital

The Faculty of Creative and Digital Technologies is a lively and energetic section where the lecturers and technicians alike are well qualified, experienced and very supportive. We have a lot to offer and you will have the opportunity to learn in a supportive, welcoming and well-equipped environment.

 

The Faculty prides itself on the professional attitude and environment created to provide a real “experience” of a work location. You will be treated, and expected to behave, in the same manner as in any professional business.

 

The diversity of courses within the Faculty benefits from highly skilled staff who have real world experience and expertise.  Many of our students’ progress into Higher Education and others feel well prepared to enter the world of work.

 

Art & Design courses enjoy spacious studio facilities where you can explore ceramics, printing, drawing & painting, sculpture, textiles and computer based artwork.

 

Drama courses find their home in the Sir Anthony Hopkins Drama Studio. It contains computerised lighting and sound equipment enabling you to perform in an exciting and innovative environment.

 

Media students are fortunate to work in radio and television studios that allow you to simulate working in a variety of professional roles within the Media Industry (e.g. director, camera, sound & lighting operators etc). During the production process, you can use an extensive range of digital and analogue equipment.

 

For Multimedia courses the College has state-of-the-art Apple Mac computers. Software applications include: i Life, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator), Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Microsoft Office, Sketchup, Cinema 4D, Maya, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Motion.

 

Music students benefit from a fully equipped Music Technology Suite, Recording Studio and Live Room that provide an environment within which you can compose, perform, record and produce music to industry standard.

 

Photography has a specialist photographic studio and a well-equipped darkroom able to offer traditional printing and processing, plus a computer suite with the latest digital manipulation software.

 

The IT courses are run at the City Centre campus, on modern equipment in well furnished and supported classrooms. Every IT room is equipped with data projectors, plus the full Industry standard range of Microsoft Office packages, JavaScript, Visual Basic and Dreamweaver.
