Courses for students who wish to develop their basic skills and life skills, as well as their understanding of the world in which we live.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Courses for students who wish to study English as a Second Language.

Anyone waiting for an ESOL course could study ELLIS - a computer course for students waiting to study English as a Second Language.

Return to Learn and Adult Foundation courses

These courses replace the Open Door programme and are for learners who have life experience and wish to develop their skills and understanding before moving onto other courses.

These courses are particularly good for learners who need to explore potential career options while developing or refreshing their learning skills.

Access

Courses for students with significant life experience who wish to take a one-year course that can lead to University.

Access courses are not recognised as a qualification for work, so it is best not to choose an Access course if you don't intend to move onto higher education, or University.

Teaching courses

such as the PGCE, ET01, Learning Support and Teaching Basic Skills to Adults, for students who wish to pass on their knowledge as teachers, plus the CELTA for those who wish to train as ESOL teachers.
