Business and Professional business links

The Hair and Beauty department of the Business and Professional Faculty helps students gain essential work experience at prestigious organisations such as The Celtic Manor, Blush Hair Company and Vanilla Rooms, helping those businesses find fully-qualified staff in turn.

The Hair and Beauty department also offers Hair and Beauty masterclasses to the industry and enthusiasts.

The Business side of the faculty also runs a Business Academy, which was started in 2007 as a forum for pillars of the business community to pass on their knowledge, and experiences, to staff and students of Coleg Glan Hafren's Faculty of Business and Professional Studies - which educates almost 1200 full and part time students in disciplines including Marketing, Accounting, Law, Business, Management, Hairdressing, Beauty and Holistic Therapies. Previous speakers at Coleg Glan Hafren's Business Academy have been Henry Engelhardt the CEO of Admiral Insurance, John Bird, Big Issue founder and Christopher Ward, the Chief Executive of the Wales Management Council.

Our Executive Office has been set up as a training office for students on the Executive Office Skills course to put theory into practice, by performing administrative and office duties for staff and external clients.  The Executive Office has also established a unique partnership with Zurich Insurance. Under the partnership two Level 3 students will be placed at Zurich Insurance to work for three days a week on a specific range of activities that will help them gain an IF1 Insurance qualification. This qualification will be extra to their Executive Office Skills or Business BTEC qualification and also meets a training need of Zurich Insurance.
